The Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) is supported by 14 AHP organisations. CAHPR is an unincorporated organisation comprising a strategy committee, a professoriate and a UK-wide regional hub network.

What we collect and how we use your personal information

 

Committee Members

If you are a committee member (or apply to join the committee) we will process your information to assess your application, and to communicate with you about CAHPR business. The information we collect includes:

    • Name, email, work telephone number, work address

    • CV, personal statement or other information in support of an application to join the committee

Committee member data will be deleted within 6 months of the end of their term.

 

The Directory of Professors and the Research Champions

If you join the Directory of Professors or the Research Champions we will publish your information online, only with your permission. The information published includes:

    • Name, email or chosen contact link, job title and institution

Other information you provide, including protected characteristics data will be stored in confidential password protected files. No individual data will be shared with any other party.

We will keep your data for 5 years, when it will be deleted unless you grant new permissions to keep your data.

 

Regional Hub members

If you join a regional hub we will use your information to disseminate information to you. The information we collect includes:

    • Name, email and job title

We will keep your data for 5 years, when it will be deleted unless you grant new permissions to keep your data.

 

AHP Members and other Stakeholders 

If you contact CAHPR on behalf of an AHP member organisation or other stakeholder we will retain details of your interactions with us so that we can deal with your query or request. We may also use your details to let you know about our work. The information we collect for this purpose includes:

    • Name, email, job title

We will keep your data for 5 years, when it will be deleted unless you grant new permissions to keep your data.

 

How we may share your data

CAPHR may share your data with:

    • Directory of Professors members

    • Research champions members

    • Regional hub and consortia leads

    • Strategy committee members

Any personal data shared with CAHPR may be shared with and processed with other third party data processors who act on our behalf, for example IT service providers such as Microsoft or survey platforms for CAHPR related business only.

 

Our legal basis for using personal data

Our legal basis for processing personal data is our legitimate interests in developing and supporting AHP research, including through the creation of a professoriate and regional hubs.

 

Your data rights

Under data protection law, you have the following rights over your data:

    • Right of access – you have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

    • Right to rectification – you have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

    • Right to erasure – you have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

    • Right to restriction of processing – you have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

    • Right to object to processing – you have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

    • Right to data portability – you have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
