What we do

CAHPR delivers activities aimed at building research capacity and capability at local and national levels for all allied health professionals (AHPs) – from the research curious to the experienced researcher.

We are committed to supporting AHP researchers and to raise the profile and impact of AHP research to improve the health and care of the UK population.

We deliver our aims through our Hubs, Strategy Committee, Research Champions and our Directory of Professors.

Strategy Committee

The Strategy Committee is the overarching committee with responsibility for overseeing the structure’s outward-facing activity, its operations and continued development. Members are drawn from the 14 AHP professional bodies, along with consultant and manager representatives, clinical academics and service provision representatives and the chairs of the regional hub network. Regional Hub Forum

The regional hub forum is run by the leads from each of the CAHPR hubs. CAHPR hubs are organised into regional consortia.

This UK-wide group enables the hub leads to meet and share perspectives and good practice, to support the broad activity of CAHPR, and to identify priorities for on-going development to the Strategy Committee. Find your nearest CAHPR hub.

Research Champions

Our CAHPR NIHR Research Champions promote the active involvement of AHPs in clinically-focussed research activities, build momentum, and maximise the visibility and impact of AHP research. Meet our Research Champions.

Directory of Professors

CAHPR houses a UK Directory of AHP Professors. You can use the directory to find a professor for collaborative work, as an advisor or to join with a research area network.

Trustees

CAHPR appointed seven trustees in 2024. Meet the trustees and learn what knowledge and experience they bring to CAHPR.

Our Director

Our Director Corrina Grimes links all our work together. Corrina joined us in August 2024, read our anouncement article.
