Welcome to our new Director

Corrina Grimes

We are delighted to announce the  appointment of our new Director for the Community for Allied Health Professions Research, Corrina Grimes.

Corrina will join us on a part time basis.

Corrina Grimes is a senior leader in health and social care. She currently serves as a National Deputy Director at NHS England. Corrina’s influence extends beyond her responsibilities within the NHS. She is an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at The Global Brain Health Institute, Trinity College Dublin, and UCSF San Francisco.

Corrina has led initiatives such as a Meta-Leadership Masterclass and workshop in response to the global pandemic. She spearheaded the groundbreaking policy For Now and For The Future – Advance Care Planning for all Adults, for the Department of Health in Northern Ireland, to encourage individuals and communities to proactively plan for their future.

Corrina’s career began in nutrition and dietetics. Her expertise led her to become an Allied Health Professions Consultant at Northern Ireland’s Public Health Agency.

Corrina champions an innovative model of health education that expands workforce capacity and reduces health disparities (Project ECHO), she has successfully led several Project ECHO networks in Northern Ireland, including a pioneering network for unpaid caregivers. She is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin and has actively participated in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing under Horizon 2020.

Corrina’s diverse experiences reflect her commitment to improving health and social care systems and advocating and promoting research across the workforce.

Corrina says: “I am thrilled to build upon the remarkable work of CAHPR by growing our community and enhancing our Allied Health Professions research capacity and capabilities. My commitment is to work with you all so we can deliver improved outcomes for individuals and to strengthen our health and social care system. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and drive positive change.”
