CAHPR delivers activities aimed at building research capacity and capability at local and national levels for all allied health professionals (AHPs) – from the research curious to the experienced researcher. We are committed to supporting AHP researchers and to raise the profile and impact of AHP research.
If you do not see a hub in your area, look for your nearest consortium and join the mailing list of any hub, or several hubs, that are fairly local to you. This way, you will receive regular updates about research activities and opportunities taking place in those hubs. You can also join any on-line CAHPR events, even those delivered by hubs elsewhere in the UK.
We have 20 regional hubs around the UK. Each hub is part of a consortium. The hubs are the best way to get involved in the CAHPR community, whether you are just starting out and are research curious or if you are a research champion, leader and teacher. Tap into your regional hub or join a CAHPR webinar.

The CAHPR vision is to improve the health and care of the UK through Allied Health Professions (AHP) research, evidence-based practice, evaluation, and innovation.
Together, the CAHPR mission is to promote excellence and inclusive engagement in research, evidence-based practice, evaluation, and innovation in all allied health professions. We seek to raise our profile and influence, and improve the experiences, well-being, and outcomes of the diverse communities we work with.
CAHPR and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) created a scheme to have Research Champions based in regional clinical research networks, across the UK. Known as the CAHPR / NIHR Research Champions, they act as role models and connectors for Allied Health Professionals (AHP) across a local area. They are activists who champion the active involvement of AHPs in clinically-focussed research activities, and they build momentum, and maximise the visibility and impact of AHP research.
Research ChampionsCAHPR houses a UK Directory of AHP Professors which was known as the CAHPR Professoriate. Use our directory to search for Professors
